Thriftwood is a well-respected, 'Outstanding' provision for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Our students have a range of different needs, which may include difficulties with communication, social or physical skills and, because of this, they often need a little extra help to manage everyday activities.
At Thriftwood, we believe that learning is life-long and that it applies to everyone, including our staff. Prior experience of working in education isn't therefore necessary - our most important requirement is for someone with an open-minded, 'can-do' attitude, who is willing to learn in the role.
The role:
To provide teaching cover for absent teachers and support staff across the School, carrying out the functions of the teacher/LSA in accordance with the stated aims and objectives in the Thriftwood Teacher Job Description and LSA Job Description
- provide learning activities under the professional direction and indirect supervision of a qualified teacher
- plan, prepare and deliver lessons and assess, record and report on development, progress, and attainment
- To perform interventions for individual/groups of students as and when required.
LGPCD Pay Scale: 7, Point 19 (Range 19-24)
Actual Salary:From £22,678.00 (point 19) under 5 years' service to £22,975.00 (point 19) over 5 years' service, per annum (pro-rata) depending on experience and length of service
