CATERING ASSISTANT (30 hours or 15 hours)

Pay Range: Local Government Scale 2

Actual Salary from: £15,804 - £16,066 (Point 3-4) for 30 hour role

Actual Salary from: £7,902 - £8,033 (Point 3-4) for 15 hour role

Start Date: As soon as possible

The Role

We are seeking an outstanding individual to assist with the provision of a high-quality food and beverage service.

We are offering this post as either:

  • 30 hours per week, 8:30am - 2:30pm

OR

  • 15 hours per week, either 9am-12pm or 11:30am-2:30pm
  • This role is 39 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days)

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • The preparation and simple cooking of food and beverages.
  • Serving customers at the counter/hatch or from a trolley or kiosk, as required. ∙ To undertake all aspects of cleaning equipment (light and heavy), walls (up to 6 ft), floors, fixtures and fittings, cooking utensils, cutlery glassware, etc, as directed. ∙
  • During service times, to ensure that tables and counters are as clean as reasonably practicable and adequately stocked.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations.
  • Occasionally, to assist with special functions at the school, which may be outside of normal working hours.

We're looking for you if you have:

  • Experience of the preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages to the required standard
  • Knowledge of health and safety, and food hygiene regulations Ability to maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations
  • Good working knowledge and ability to follow menu and recipes agreed
  • Ability to use kitchen and cleaning equipment and supervise others when required
