We invite interest in this exciting opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team at Chase High School as the Assistant Headteacher: Raising Standards.
This person would be the conduit between the high-quality Teaching and Learning and Data teams, following established lines of enquiry and hypotheses that are suggested from analysis of data by the Deputy Headteacher: Quality of Education.
A key focus for the role is to ensure students in all year groups are tracked and supported and that information is available to SLT and subject leaders. The new AHT will take responsibility for driving standards through data analysis, subject leader meetings and intervention design and implementation linked to all year groups.
It is expected that the successful applicant will be adept in and have recent experience of designing assessment strategies, collecting and analysing data efficiently, presenting findings to a range of audiences and ultimately work with and support subject leaders to consolidate and improve outcomes.
Applicants must have, and be able to demonstrate:
· Senior Leadership experience of improving student outcomes through a data led approach;
· Experience of leading teams of staff at all levels to improve student outcomes;
· Experience in developing strategies that have led to improvement in student engagement and improved student outcomes. It is expected that these strategies will be classroom based, extra-curricular and involve external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1) To support with the leadership and oversight of the curriculum intent including working with Senior leaders on the academic provision including the intervention programme and out of school strategies to improve outcomes.
2) To strategically lead on the creation, development and analysis of strategies to ensure excellent oversight and use of outcomes data at all key stages.
3) To support the quality assurance of the curriculum, including regular review and development of the curriculum to ensure all students access a suitably challenging and engaging offer at all key stages.
4) To support the Deputy Headteacher: Quality of Education and work alongside the Assistant Headteacher: Teaching and Learning to ensure effective adaptive teaching is embedded throughout the curriculum.
5) To establish a culture of constant improvement in the school's approach to schemes of learning; ensuring they possess the necessary features of effective curriculum planning.
6) To provide training to all staff on how to use data to plan and prepare lessons and schemes of learning to elicit continued improvement in outcomes.
7) To represent the Senior Leadership Team at relevant LSC and Trust presentations to discuss and justify student outcomes.
8) To lead and implement an effective revision strategies at all relevant key stages.
9) To liaise with parents and carers to ensure all stakeholders are aware of current academic performance of students and the strategies the school is using to ensure improvement.
10) To lead Continuing Professional Development for subject leaders regarding assessment and data analysis; ensuring improved outcomes.
11) To design and implement whole school intervention strategies that support the delivery of the curriculum with relevant input from subject leaders.
12) To ensure a constant focus on key groups of students and be able to implement strategies to quickly identify and support underperforming groups. To communicate these to all staff and explain the desired impact. Key groups include, but are not limited to, Pupil Premium, CLA, SEND, Prior Attainment, EAL.
13) To work with Deputy Headteacher: Behaviour, to identify and remove barriers to learning for key students as identified by Behaviour and Attendance team.
