Full Time Teacher of English, Geography and History

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher who is passionate about English, Geography and History, who is an outstanding classroom practitioner and who is committed to inspiring young people.

Person specification

You will have:

Qualifications and Training

· A good honours degree in English, Geography or History or a closely related discipline

· Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE with QTS or equivalent)

· Right to work in the UK

· Experience teaching to GCSE and A Level (or equivalent examination specifications)

Experience

· Proven experience teaching English, Geography or History across a range of secondary age groups

· Experience preparing pupils for public examinations with a record of strong outcomes

· Experience teaching in a high-performing academic environment

· Involvement in co-curricular activities

Skills and Knowledge

· Excellent subject knowledge

· Strong understanding of effective assessment practices and feedback strategies

· Confident use of educational technology to enhance teaching and learning

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Familiarity with current GCSE and A Level specifications (e.g. AQA, Edexcel, OCR, or equivalent)

Personal Qualities

· A genuine passion for English and the humanities

· High expectations of pupils' achievement and behaviour

· Commitment to academic excellence and intellectual curiosity

· Ability to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities

· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

· Willingness to contribute fully to the wider life of the school

· Collaborative, reflective, and open to professional growth

· Professional integrity, discretion, and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
children

· Willingness to contribute to pastoral care and form tutoring.
