Keys Co-operative Academy Trust has an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker (FTC).
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker to join our committed and caring team at Keys Co Operative Academy Trust. We are looking for people who hold an unwavering belief that every pupil has the right to thrive and achieve success, no matter what difficulties or challenges they might face. This role will be offered initially on a fixed term basis until the 31st August 2028. This role will be 37 hours per week Mon-Fri, term time only (39 working weeks).

The Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker position is paid at Scale 7, Pt-19-24, the pro rata'd per annum figures, (based on 37 hours per week, 44.7 paid weeks (Pt19-22)/44.9 paid weeks (Pt23-24) - under 5 years continuous service), are as follows;

Scale 7, Pt 19 - £27,486 to Scale 7, Pt 24 £30,495. Pay Award Pending April 2026.

Our core values are compassion and kindness, hope, connection and belonging. As an intrinsic part of our new and exciting multi-hub Outreach Project, the post holders will be working in our partner schools to promote inclusion and reduce permanent exclusion across mid and north-east Essex.

You will be part of a team developing and delivering effective and bespoke interventions tailored to the needs of individuals and school staff, so the ability to create and maintain credible and collaborative professional relationships is essential. As an existing trauma aware practitioner, you will have already delivered impactful small group work and 1 to 1 interventions.

You will have a proven track record of working in a setting with young people to effect positive educational or social outcomes or both. You will have the resilience and self awareness that comes with working in a high pressure environment.

The role covers Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester and Tendring so therefore be required to be mobile throughout Mid or North East Essex or both (your employment base will be at our Trust Office in Turner Road, Colchester.). The role requires a high level of autonomy, so evidence of your ability to work proactively and independently is key.

It is essential the post-holder holds a full driving licence and has access to a car and the required business insurance.

You will be joining the Trust at an exciting time and will be part of implementing the outreach offer to secondary schools across a significant section of the county, unlocking potential, securing success and transforming lives.

- verification that you are not subject to a section 128 direction preventing you from holding a management position within a
school (if applicable)
- a declaration that you are not disqualified from working with children by virtue of the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations
2018 or that you have provided a valid disqualification waiver from Ofsted
In line with recommended practice in the statutory guidance "Keeping Children Safe in Education", the school will conduct
searches for information on shortlisted candidates which is publicly available on-line. The purpose is limited:
- to identify issues which call into question the applicant's suitability to work with children;
- to verify employment history.

Keys Co-operative Academy Trust are a small Academy Trust located in Essex. We currently have two Alternative Provision schools, serving Mid and North East Essex and a Special School in Brentwood. Our Trust is based on Co-operative values which guide and inform the ethos of all of our schools.
