JOB VACANCY FOR A LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT + MIDDAY ASSISTANT HOURS
at Great Wakering Primary Academy
KS2 LSA - 15 hours per week term time only + 5 inset days
Monday to Friday. Hours 09:15 - 12:15
Scales 3, Pay Point 6 FTE £25989 Actual £9032.66
MDA - 5 hours per week term time only + 5 inset days
Monday to Friday. Hours 12:15-13:15
Scales 2, Pay Point 4 FTE £25185 Actual £2917.74
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our KS2 team.
Successful candidates will have a good understanding and experience of balancing the complex individual social and emotional needs of children whilst maintaining a sense of fairness in class. A good understanding of child development and key skills in encouraging, yet challenging, children to achieve academically and socially within this setting is required. The ability to work collaboratively with the class team and other professionals in a busy, vibrant school is also essential. Good literacy and numeracy skills as well as effective ICT skills are necessary.
You will also be working alongside our team of dedicated staff to care for the children during their lunch break to provide a positive, happy, and secure environment. The successful applicant will:
• prepare the dinner hall for lunch, serve and clear away afterwards.
• supervise children in the dinner hall, classrooms, and the playground.
• encourage healthy eating.
• administer first aid if required.
• interact with children to encourage good social skills.
• respect the need for confidentiality.
Prior school and SEND experience are desirable.
This is a temporary position linked to SEND funding
