Teacher of Science (Physics)

St John's is a co-educational Independent School for pupils aged between 2 and 16 years. We are proud of our educational provision and offer you the opportunity to join our successful school.
We are looking for an experienced full-time teacher of Science to join a small, supportive department at our friendly school. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching Physics to pupils in KS3 and KS4. The post would involve teaching Physics in mixed ability/set groups to include teaching the Double Award and separate science GCSEs. We are pleased to offer small classes of pupils with very supportive parents.
The successful candidate must:
- Be committed to our positive, friendly and caring school ethos.
- Beapositive role model for our pupils.
- Have excellentcommunicationskills with the ability to motivate pupils.
- Bean excellent classroom practitioner who is able to engage and inspirepupils in KS3 and KS4 to achieve success.
- Be an experienced and qualified teacher with an excellent subject knowledge, holding QTS and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Have high expectations of children's achievements and behaviour.
- Be committed to participating in our extra-curricular programme.
- Be an enthusiastic, collaborative and motivated individual who will teach the subject though a variety of innovative approaches.
- Be a strong team player who forms excellent relationships with staff, parents and students.
- Be an inclusive practitioner who can flexibly tailor their approach to ensure every child feels understood and supported.
