CATERING SUPERVISOR

  • 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)
  • Commencing: June 2026
  • Temporary - Maternity Cover - 12 months
  • NJC Scale Point 6 - 9 (Actual Salary: £18,124 - £19,006)

Ravens Academy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Catering Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operation of our school kitchen. This is a temporary maternity cover position and is an excellent opportunity for someone with catering experience who enjoys working in a school environment.

The successful candidate will oversee the catering service, supervise two catering assistants and ensure that high-quality, nutritious meals are prepared and served to our pupils each day. The role is hands-on and will involve food preparation, menu planning, ordering supplies and ensuring that all food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervising the day-to-day running of the school kitchen
Preparing and serving healthy, balanced meals in line with School Food Standards
Managing food orders, stock control and kitchen budgets
Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, allergen and health & safety regulations
Leading and supporting two catering assistants
Promoting healthy eating and encouraging pupils to enjoy school meals

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working in a catering environment
Holds a Level 3 Food Safety qualification (or equivalent)
Has strong organisational and supervisory skills
Is enthusiastic about providing high-quality food for children
Works well as part of a team in a busy school environment
