Are you passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and supporting learners with sensory and physical needs to thrive? We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Inclusion Coach - HI, VI and PNI Lead to join our INSPIRE SEND Support team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take a lead role in ensuring learners who are Deaf, have hearing or visual impairments, or have physical and/or neurological impairments receive high-quality, coordinated support to access learning, build independence, and successfully progress.
About the Role
In this key role, you will lead on provision and support for learners with visual impairment (VI), and physical/neurological impairments (PNI) and, in conjunction with Communication Support Workers, for our Deaf and hearing-impaired learners. You will work closely with Communication Support Workers, curriculum staff, and external agencies to ensure inclusive practice is embedded across the College.
You will combine effective coordination with direct learner support, helping individuals overcome barriers to learning while empowering staff to deliver accessible and inclusive teaching.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate specialist support for learners who are Deaf, HI, VI, and PNI
Work closely with Communication Support Workers and other specialists to ensure high-quality, effective support delivery
Provide expert guidance to staff on inclusive teaching strategies and reasonable adjustments
Lead support planning from entry through to exit, ensuring learners achieve their progression goals
Deliver targeted interventions (1:1 and small group) to build independence, access, and confidence
Support development of risk assessments and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs)
Collaborate with the Assistive Technology/AI Lead to identify and implement appropriate tools and resources
Contribute to staff training and awareness across the College
Work with external partners including sensory support services, health professionals, and local authorities
Support smooth transitions into College and beyond through effective partnership working
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting learners with sensory impairments and/or physical and neurological needs
Is passionate about inclusion, accessibility, and removing barriers to learning
Has strong knowledge of inclusive practice, assistive technology, and reasonable adjustments
Can confidently advise and support staff to create accessible learning environments
Demonstrates excellent communication and partnership working skills
