Rochford Primary & Nursery School is seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Headteacher / SENDCo to join our professional and friendly team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced primary teacher with a strong background in leading Special Educational Needs provision. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the wider SLT to drive high-quality inclusive practice across the school and ensure excellent outcomes for all pupils.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting staff to develop and implement effective provision for vulnerable pupils, in line with the SEND Code of Practice, and will lead the strategic development of SEND across the school.
About You
- The successful candidate will:
- Be an experienced and reflective primary teacher
- Have experience of leading SEND provision in a primary setting
- Hold the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (NASENCo)
- Have strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with pupils with a wide range of needs, including SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL and G&T
- Be confident in liaising with parents, carers and a range of external agencies

Information about the School
South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT) is a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with eight schools.
SEEAT was inaugurated on 1st April 2014. It was made up from Westcliff High School for Girls, Prince Avenue Academy, Nursery and Children’s Centre (sponsored by WHSG) and Rochford Primary School and Nursery. The Trust enlarged on 1st September 2014 with WHSG sponsoring the academisation of Holt Farm Junior School. In September 2021 The Deanes School, Hadleigh Junior School and The Westborough School joined us followed by Heycroft Primary School in January 2024.
Since April 2024 we have been supporting Cornelius Vermuyden School and working in close partnership, including providing and Executive Head arrangement.
We are a friendly, collaborative family of schools and we believe that all the schools in the family have become significantly stronger since working together as part of SEEAT.
