Midday Assistant Sept 2026
Pay: Level 3 point 5 FTE £25,583
Actual Salary £6,347.52 (hourly rate £13.26 per hour)
Hours:10 hours 50 minutes per week (11.35 am - 1.45 pm daily) - Term Time only
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday (during fixed times above), but will consider flexibility around days for the right candidate.
About the Role:
Greenways Primary School is a happy, vibrant community for all, and we are thrilled to have an opportunity for someone to join our wonderful lunchtime support team as a Midday Assistant! As a member of this team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children, engaging them through play and conversation, and organising structured play activities. The role is all about maintaining a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being.
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Lead and participate in fun, engaging activities.
Contribute to creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere for all children over lunch.
We are looking for someone who:

Has high emotional intelligence and the ability to interact positively with children.
Has experience delivering activities for children.
Can build strong relationships with staff, children, and families
Works well as part of a team.

Our large primary school is a happy, vibrant learning community situated in Southend-on-Sea.
The school is situated only 300m from the beach. We are blessed to have a large site with some fantastic facilities including our own swimming pool, Forest Schools area, environmental area and pond as well as two large playing fields.
Our community is a place of learning and friendship. We provide a happy and nurturing environment, so that as well as maturing into well-rounded, healthy young people, our children develop a passion for learning.
