Salary:GLC Points 10 - 16 FTE £17,427 - £20,805 [Actual £13,040 - £15,568]
Contract: 32.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year)
The Gateway Academy is part of the larger Gateway Learning Community (GLC): a partnership of local primary and secondary schools committed to working together to achieve the highest educational standards for the whole community and is a friendly school that values teamwork and high achievement in all areas of our work with young people.
We are looking to appoint a strong, enthusiastic, committed and creative full time Learning Support Assistant who will be required to work 32.5 hours a week. Successful candidates will be required to work flexibly taking direction from the class teachers and SENCo in adapting and planning activities to take students' learning forward. Our students' needs are at the core of the GLC'S ethos, successful candidates will be required to support the emotional and social development of the young people they work with.
Candidates must be able to carry out and write up necessary observations to inform and evaluate the child's needs. They must be experienced classroom practitioners proactive in dealing with students and identifying groups or individuals who may be falling behind in their learning.
Candidates must be able to use their own initiative and will have the following:
•good standard of education; Maths and English GCSE grades A - C, or equivalent
•can provide excellent classroom support in literacy, numeracy and behavioural needs
•good organisation and inter-personal skills
•good knowledge of ICT
•be committed to high achievement from students and themselves
