Lift Maltings is seeking a confident, enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining high-quality learning by supervising lessons during teacher absence and helping create a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment.
Whether you're an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step, or an aspiring teacher seeking valuable classroom experience, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and ambitious school.
Working across a range of subjects, you'll quickly build positive relationships with students, ensuring they remain engaged with their learning while maintaining the high expectations and standards that underpin success at Lift Maltings.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects during teacher absence.
- Supervise classes, ensuring students remain on task, complete their work and meet the school's highexpectations for behaviour and conduct.
- Support students to access learning, including those with SEND, adapting your approach where appropriate.
- Create a calm, positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement, behaviour and lesson outcomes.
- Complete attendance registers and maintain accurate records.
- Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and SEND teams to support student wellbeing and achievement.
- Undertake wider academy duties, including break and lunchtime supervision where required.
About Lift Maltings
Lift Maltings is an 11-16 school based in Witham, Essex. Situated between the cities of Chelmsford and Colchester, the school has 900 students on roll and benefits from a modern, purpose-built site opened in 2011. With excellent transport links to London, our staff and students can take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities the capital provides. Free car parking facilities are available on site.
