Vacancy - Speech and Language Specialist
Location
All schools within Portico Academy Trust - initially based at Friars Primary School & Nursery, Constable Way, Shoeburyness, Essex SS3 9XX
Hours of work
32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm with 30 mins unpaid lunch break.
Term time only
Salary
Level 6, point 13 to 20 (£29,064 to £32,597 FTE), actual salary £21,640 to £24,270

About the role
Are you passionate about improving speech, language and communication outcomes for children with SEND? Do you have experience supporting pupils with additional needs in a primary school setting?
We are seeking a specialist to work across our Trust's primary schools to enhance provision for pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The role will focus on assessment, targeted intervention, staff training, and collaborative working to ensure inclusive practice across all settings.
You will work closely with SENDCOs, teachers, leaders, families and external agencies to develop communication-friendly environments, deliver specialist support, and build staff confidence and capacity. The role also involves contributing to Trust-wide strategy and monitoring the impact of provision on pupil outcomes.
