Job Description

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, friendly, enthusiastic, flexible, efficient and experienced Teaching Assistant as soon as possible.

The role will involve working alongside teachers and supporting individual children.

We are a welcoming, friendly and supportive school with extremely well behaved, happy, polite and hardworking children.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant who have the following attributes:

• Proven experience in working with pupils with significant needs
• Willing to be trained to administer procedures to children with medical needs (more information on request)
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in working with a range of interventions
• An ability to work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
• Positive and calm approach to managing behaviour
A solid understanding of safeguarding practices
• Ability to work as part of a team and show initiative

In addition, someone who is confident in covering a class, on occasion, in the event of teacher absence would be advantageous.

We are looking for candidates who can work from 8.40am to 3.20pm 3 days a week.

Fairways Primary School has 406 pupils on roll and the school has a two-form entry, with most classes containing 30 children. The Speech and Language Resource Base is an integral part of the school, the resource base children are included in all aspects of school life, with some fully included in mainstream classes.

Set in extensive attractive grounds, the school buildings are spacious and well maintained. There are two halls, group work areas, individual classrooms, a superbly resourced library and an ICT suite.

There are large playgrounds and a wide range of seasonal sports facilities including athletics track, hockey pitch, rounders squares and football pitches.

Fairways is a very happy, caring school with a dedicated staff who are working together to improve and maintain the quality of education at the school. The school had an OFSTED inspection in July 2023, to be told that we are a 'good' school.

The Governors and Staff at Fairways believe that the school should provide a stimulating and challenging environment where a lifelong passion for learning is nurtured.
