The Role
TreetopsLearning Community isseekinga passionate and skilled teacher of severe learning difficulties (SLD) to play a key role in the development of a new learning pathway, designed to meet the complex needs of our pupils.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is creative,reflectiveand committed to inclusive practice and who wants to shape a bespoke curriculum thatprioritisescommunication, independence,engagementand wellbeing.
TheTrust
In March2025Treetops School was judged by Ofsted to havemaintainedthe standardsidentifiedat thepreviousinspection.Thepreviousinspection was in February 2020, at which time Treetops was judged as Outstanding. Treetops Free School, which officially opened in September 2022, was judged Good in its first Ofsted inspection in March 2024.
Students throughoutTreetopsLearning Community have complex needs varying from moderate to severe learning difficulties, which mayinclude;speech and communication difficulties,autismand global developmental delay.
About the New Learning Pathway
Our new pathway is designed for pupils with severe and complex learning needs, including communication difficulties, sensory needs and associated physical or medical needs.The pathway focuses on:
Highly personalised learning
Functional communication
Sensory regulation and engagement
Independence and life skills
Positive relationships and emotional development
You will work collaboratively with senior leaders,therapistsand support staff to help design and deliver this innovative provision.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong communicationand organisational skills.
- You do not need SLD experience for this role, but evidence of SEND and awillingness to learnare essential.
