Higher Level Teaching Assistant:
All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Terling C of E Primary School for an inspirational and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our highly motivated and supportive team.
This post will be a Full-time position, starting in September 2026, or earlier if available.
Key Responsibilities:
· Covering PPA using pre-prepared lesson plans
· Running intervention groups
· Undertake 30 minutes of Midday duties every day during the lunch hour
· To support children with SEND needs in their classrooms or other safe learning spaces
· Demonstrate a calm and fair approach, fostering positive relationships with our pupils
· Communicate effectively with teacher colleagues to best support the children
· Actively participate in the wider life of the school, contributing to the vibrant and inclusive church school community
Required Qualifications and Experience:
· Have already completed the HLTA qualification, NVQ level 4 or equivalent
· Have excellent classroom practice with the knowledge and understanding to support pupil progress across both KS1 and KS2
· Have knowledge of Trauma informed practice
· Demonstrate a strong, confident manner in the classroom
· Be able to challenge and support children of all abilities across the curriculum
· Show a passion for the development of the whole child and a keen interest in Pastoral support
· Have high expectations of themselves, colleagues and children
· Be able to work effectively in a team
· Be keen to engage in all areas of school life

Post Details:
31.25 hours per week 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday (Term time only)
Scale 6. Point 14-18 (depending on experience)
This post is initially for a fixed term until 31st August 2027, with a view to it becoming a permanent position thereafter.
