We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Lead to join our school community.

As a Trauma Perceptive Practice school, we are committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported to flourish. The successful candidate will play an integral role within our school, working closely with SLT and the SENCo to provide high-quality pastoral support for our children and families.

This is a key position within the school and we are looking for someone who has the capacity, experience and skills to work at this level, embodying and leading a compassionate approach to supporting children's emotional wellbeing and behaviour.

Start Date: 1 September 2026

37hours per week; Monday - Friday: 8.00 am - 4pm, Term time + 2 weeks + INSET days

Salary: Scale 8: Point 25 - 28 (£32,917.79 - £35,442.55 pro rata, FTE £36,363 - £39,152)

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to start earlier (during July 2026) to benefit from a full handover and training period with the current Catering Manager before their departure.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be calm, sensitive and professional at all times.
  • Have significant experience in supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Possess a strong understanding of trauma-informed and relational approaches to behaviour support.
  • Have experience of the safeguarding and/or deputy designated safeguarding roles.
  • Aware of external agencies that can support schools, children and families.
  • Have experience of dysregulation strategies and techniques that help children to regulate emotions and engage successfully in learning.
  • Have practical knowledge of interventions that provide emotional support and enable children to flourish.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Be committed to working as part of a team, embracing a "tag team" approach to supporting children and families.

Work closely with the SLT and SENCo to develop and implement effective pastoral provision across the school.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral, behaviour support or similar role.
  • Experience of supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • HLTA Status
