We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, proactive and self-motivated Clerk to provide professional administrative and procedural support to the Governing Board. This is an important role in supporting effective governance and helping the Board fulfil its responsibilities.
The Clerk will ensure the smooth running of Governing Board meetings by preparing agendas and papers, circulating documents in advance, taking accurate minutes and maintaining clear records. The role will also involve advising the Chair, Vice Chair and Governors on administrative and procedural matters where appropriate and supporting governors to remain informed about their responsibilities and duties.
· Liaising with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher to support effective meeting preparation
· Maintaining accurate governance records and the governor portal using SharePoint
· Supporting governors with access to key information, training materials and reference documents
· Keeping governors informed of relevant administrative, legal and educational updates
The successful candidate must be able to attend approximately six Full Governing Board meetings during the academic year, usually held in school, as well as any additional ad-hoc meetings or events that may reasonably be required.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a high standard of literacy, strong IT skills and the ability to work accurately and independently. They will be able to organise their own time, work to strict deadlines and maintain confidentiality at all times. A high level of personal integrity and a professional approach are essential. A relevant professional qualification, or willingness to undertake appropriate training, is desirable.
