We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our dedicated team.
Hours:37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working weeks -Term time inc non pupil days + 3 weeks in the holiday. Must include 3 days at beginning of summer break and 4 days at the end
Salary:Actual starting salary£25,980.83
About the Role
As Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the school meets all statutory and regulatory requirements related to:
Residential care
Data protection (GDPR)
Health and safety
Safeguarding
Policy governance
Safer recruitment pre employment checks
You will work closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Head, HR Officer, Site Manager and Head of Care to ensure inspection readiness, policy compliance, and operational integrity across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Lead policy review cycles and maintain version control
Act as the school's Data Protection Lead
Oversee health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and incident investigations
Monitor residential provision against national minimum standards
Maintain training records and ensure staff compliance with mandatory training
Ensure the school website meets statutory requirements
Log, investigate, and report complaints and incidents
Single Central Record. Keep up to date and compliant with OFSTED requirements.
Answer any questions on SCR during OFSTED visit
Monitor staff right to work permits
Carry out safer recruitment pre-employment checks, including requesting references and DBS checks
What We're Looking For
Experience in administrative roles within busy environments
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, and GDPR
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
Desirable
Experience in a school or residential care setting
Experience of Safer Recruitment
Familiarity with Every HR/Compliance or similar systems
