An opportunity has arisen for a KS2 maternity cover role at our popular school. You will be part of a committed team working to build a love of life and learning in every pupil, helping them thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver exciting, motivating and engaging, well-structured lessons in Key Stage 2, tailored to mixed-age classes
- Inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential academically and personally
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives and pupil development
- Believe that high academic standards go hand-in-hand with creative and child-centred experiences
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support pupil progress and wellbeing
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of teaching Key Stage 2 pupils, ideally in mixed-age settings
- Commitment to high standards and outstanding pupil outcomes
- Ability to contribute positively to a small school community
Desirable Qualities
- A passion for fostering a love of learning and personal growth in pupils
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life of the school

Information about the School
Set within the rural village of Gosfield in Essex, Gosfield Primary School provides a nurturing and engaging educational environment. With just 140 pupils, we pride ourselves on our close-knit, family feel and personalised approach to education. Our school comprises five classes, four of which are mixed-age, with Year Six taught as a single year group. We believe that alongside academic excellence, nurturing character is equally important. Our curriculum and pedagogical approach encourage students to embrace challenges and engage in reflective practice, both within the school and as members of the wider community.
