We are seeking an inspirational Year Leader to join our established pastoral team. This is a significant opportunity for an experienced teacher and form tutor who is driven by the desire to see every young person succeed.

- Contract Term: Full time (100% FTE)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale (M1 - U3) + TLR 2B (£5,875)
A Day in the Life:
You'll be responsible for bringing your passion and expertise to the following areas:
- Teaching through the secondary range for Key Stages 3 & 4 (including teaching outside of your main subject, if necessary).
- Raising the standards of student attainment and achievement within the year group, establishing high standards.
- Monitoring and taking accountability for the outcomes of each student's learning within the year group.
- Leading and managing a team of tutors and taking responsibility for organising and monitoring the work of the tutor team.
- Liaising with the Attendance Officer to monitor the attendance and punctuality of students in the year group.
- Using IT to plan and teach lessons and to communicate across the school community.
What We're Looking For:
You are the perfect fit for our team if you have:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- The ability to teach lessons that challenge all students
- A passion for teaching and making a real difference to young people
- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Information about the School
St Helena School, part of the Sigma Trust, is a highly-regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, recognised as Good by Ofsted in 2014 and now on a journey to Outstanding. Located on 17 acres in historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities and opened a £2.5m new Science block in 2015, and a £2.5m all weather pitch facility in February 2016.
On 1 September 2016, the school joined The Sigma Trust, a partnership of schools with The Stanway School, The Thomas Lord Audley School, Clacton County High School, Monkwick Junior School and Monkwick Infants School and Nursery. Working in collaboration with all the schools within The Sigma Trust, St Helena has developed and enhanced its development of outstanding professional practice.
