Information about the School

Lift Ashingdon is a primary school with 209 pupils, offering places from Reception through to Year 6. Children join us mainly from the villages of Ashingdon and South Fambridge, as well as from parts of Canewdon, Hockley, Rochford and Hullbridge.

Our school is set on a large, attractive site in open, green-belt countryside. We are fortunate to have a quiet wildlife and sensory garden, a spacious playground and a large playing field. Inside, we offer welcoming and engaging classrooms, a well-stocked library, and dedicated learning support areas for small group work. We also provide daily breakfast and after-school care in The Hive.

For our youngest pupils, we have an inviting outdoor learning space where Reception children learn through play in their first year at school. This complements our engaging and nurturing indoor Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision.

We deliver learning across the three key stages:

Foundation Stage – Reception

Key Stage 1 (KS1) – Years 1 and 2

Key Stage 2 (KS2) – Years 3 to 6

Our committed and friendly staff aim to:

Provide an environment where children feel safe, secure and happy, enabling them to become confident, independent learners.

  • Build on each child’s success by delivering an engaging and stimulating curriculum.

  • Encourage and support the development of the whole child.

  • Value the partnership with parents and strengthen links with the local community.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
