St Teresa's is a thriving Catholic primary school with a flourishing school-based nursery, Little Flowers, and a commitment to providing the very best opportunities for every child. We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Senior Administrator to join our dedicated team. The start date will be as soon as possible, or following a period of notice. The hours will be 34 hours per week Monday to Friday - hours are flexible. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements for the right candidate. This role can be undertaken on either an all-year-round basis or through a condensed term-time working pattern. Some home working during school holiday periods may be possible, subject to operational requirements. We are looking for a highly organised, efficient and proactive administrator who can work with professionalism, discretion and attention to detail. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth and effective operation of administrative functions across both the school and nursery. For suitably experienced candidates, including those able to undertake the role of Clerk to the Governors, appointment may be made on Essex Scale 6

This is a varied and rewarding role with responsibility for admissions, appeals, census administration, nursery administration, governance support and compliance. The post also includes providing administrative support to the Headteacher and coordinating a range of important school processes.

A significant element of the role will involve supporting Little Flowers Nursery, which opened in September 2025 and is now operating at capacity, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to its continued success.

Key Responsibilities

  • School and nursery class admissions administration, occupancy planning and all nursery administration
  • Coordination of school admissions including appeals
  • School census administration
  • Attendance analysis and administration support
  • Administration of Health & Safety paperwork/Premises administration as directed
  • Governance support, which could include clerking
  • Headteacher PA support, including diary management and correspondence
  • Website compliance and administration
  • Policy administration and review scheduling
  • Management of school records and data systems
  • Coordination of statutory returns and reporting requirements
  • Front of house support
  • Directing other front of house staff

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in an administrative role, ideally within a school, nursery or education setting
  • Be highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Be able to work independently, use initiative and maintain confidentiality
  • Build positive relationships with staff, parents, governors and external agencies
  • Support the Catholic ethos and values of the school

Experience of the following systems would be advantageous:

  • Arbor or another Management Information System (MIS)
  • CPOMS
  • ParentPay
  • Seesaw
  • Microsoft Office 365, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
