Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our successful and supportive team in September 2026.

This is a fixed term contract until July 2028.

Hours: 8.30 - 3.15 Monday - Friday, term time only

This role involves working with all pupils, supporting their learning and helping to improve educational outcomes. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, creative, highly motivated and have a positive, caring approach. The role also includes 30 minutes of midday supervision during lunchtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils to engage effectively in learning activities
Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
Act as a positive role model, encouraging high standards of behaviour
Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
Provide feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and lesson outcomes
Maintain accurate pupil records
Offer additional classroom support where required
Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils

The Successful Candidate Will:

Have experience working as a Learning Support Assistant
Be passionate, creative, motivated and positive in outlook
Be committed to supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
Be dedicated to raising outcomes for all pupils
Have excellent communication and organisational skills
Work effectively as part of a team
Show genuine care for the welfare and achievement of every child
Be innovative and committed to continuous improvement
Remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
Understand and follow safeguarding procedures, prioritising pupil welfare
Hold GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4-9 / A-C) or equivalent
