Are you an organised, proactive business professional looking for your next challenge? Perryfields Junior School is seeking a skilled School Business Manager to join our welcoming team.

As a vibrant, inclusive Junior school in a semi-urban setting with 302 pupils, we are dedicated to providing the best possible opportunities for our children.

The successful candidate will lead and manage the school's business, financial, and administrative functions to support the headteacher, senior leadership team, and governors. They will ensure the effective use of resources to support high-quality teaching, learning, and school improvement. And, oversee key areas including finance, HR, premises, health & safety, and compliance.

Knowledge of school-based systems, including SIMS/FMS would be preferable. Where possible we would like the successful candidate to have some 'handover days' to support a smooth transition.

Key Responsibilities;

· Lead the school's financial management: develop budgets, monitor income and expenditure, and ensure compliance with financial regulations

· Prepare financial reports and advise the headteacher and governors on budgetary matters

· Oversee payroll, procurement, contracts, and management of school resources

· Line manage administrative, site and catering teams, ensuring effective performance and professional development

· Manage HR processes, including recruitment, absence monitoring, and personnel records

· Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidance (including health & safety, GDPR, and safer recruitment)

· Oversee the maintenance and development of school premises, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment

· Support income generation opportunities and effective use of school funding and grants

· Develop and maintain effective relationships with external partners, suppliers, and contractors

· Lead on risk management and business continuity planning

· Promote and uphold the school's values, contributing to its ethos and vision.
