Upper Key Stage 2 SEND Learning Support Assistant
Hours: 30 hours and 50 minutes per week (8.40am to 3.10pm with a 20-minute unpaid lunch break), term-time only
Current Salary: Range - National Minimum Wage to Scale 3 Point 7, dependant upon experience (Scale 3 Point 7 - £18,353 per annum)

Are you passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential? Do you have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive team and work with pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6).
The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop their independence and build confidence as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
The role will include:
- Providing high-quality 1:1 and small-group support for Upper KS2 pupils with SEND.
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
- Adapting and differentiating learning activities to meet individual pupils' needs and abilities.
- Working closely with class teachers and the SEND team to meet individual pupils' needs.
- Supporting children with their learning, social communication, emotional regulation and independence.
- Helping to implement individual support plans and agreed strategies.
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- Supporting pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
- Monitoring and sharing observations about pupils' progress and needs.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working with children with SEND.
- Has experience supporting children on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
- Is confident adapting work and activities to ensure pupils can access their learning.
- Can think on their feet and respond calmly and positively when situations change or a pupil needs a different approach.
- Is patient, caring, calm and nurturing.
- Is a strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively with teachers, LSAs and the wider school team.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues and is willing to share ideas and strategies.
- Has high expectations for all children and believes that every child can succeed.
- Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to inclusive education.

Previous SEND experience is essential for this role.
