Employment Type: Permanent Contract
Hours: 15 or 30 hours per week, term-time only - 5.30 am - 8.30 am (15 hours) or 3.15 pm to 6.15pm (15 hours) or 5.30 am - 8.30 am and 3.15 pm to 6.15pm (30 hours)
Salary: Essex School's Pay Scale, Scale 1 Point 3 - Actual salary £8,628 (15 hours) or £17,256 (30 hours), per annum (before any applicable deductions)
The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a reliable, committed Cleaner to join our established team.
Person Specification:
- Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential).
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision to undertake routine tasks.
- Ability to carry out a range of manual cleaning duties.
- Ability to understand written/oral instructions and requests.
- Awareness of health and safety and hygiene procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Duties will include:
- Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices and shared areas to a high standard, emptying bins, dusting, wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- To carry out, as necessary, the replacement of roller towels, renewing supply of toilet rolls and replacement of bin liners.
- To assist as necessary with the cleaning up after break-in or vandalism at the school.
- To notify the Site Manager or Headteacher, of any damage to buildings and equipment or of anything you see that may be dangerous to pupils and/or staff.
- All employees are expected to show a responsible attitude to health and safety issues and have due regard for their personal safety and that of others.
- Such other duties relating to the cleanliness of the school premises as may be necessary from time to time within the reasonable requirements of the Headteacher and Governing Body.
