Information about the School
OA North View is an independent SEMH school based in Tilbury, Essex. We support young people aged between 11 and 16, with up to 30 pupils on roll at any one time. Places at OA North View are commissioned by the Local Authority through a consultation with the school, due to special educational needs or disabilities.
Our fully renovated site provides a rich learning environment, giving students access to a range of resources and facilities to enhance their educational journey.
Our aim is to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked. We help our students develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives.
Our school is a nurturing, inclusive community where students are able to grow and develop. We strive to ensure success for all our learners academically, socially and morally. We build a curriculum around the needs of our students in the hope that our Year 11 students leave with qualifications on par with their mainstream peers and transition into education, training or employment.
Alongside our broad and balanced curriculum, we also offer our students the opportunity to access additional qualifications in non-traditional subjects such as music technology, automotive engineering, hair & beauty and photography.
All students receive therapeutic support and this can range from a set or personalised programme, counselling, speech and language intervention or small group activities around self-worth and wellbeing.
Working in alternative provision can be challenging, but joining the OA North View team will be one of the most rewarding and positive career developments you will make. If you have the experience and enthusiasm to support us on our journey, I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for your interest.
Kerry Geary - Head of OA North View
