Learning Support Assistant (1:1 and general classroom roles available)
Start date 1st September 2026 (or earlier depending on candidate availability)
Chipping Hill Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, outstanding and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our wonderful, collaborative team. The successful candidate will be someone with recent and relevant experience of working, understanding and supporting children within an educational setting, demonstrate good teaching and learning skills, a commitment to team and collaborative working. They should thrive when working with children and have excellent communication skills.
This role could be a combination of both 1:1 responsibilities and/or general class responsibilities - there are vacancies across all Key Stages at this time. There are part-time and full-time roles available.
It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate the following:
- Enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of different personalities and skill levels.
- Experience supporting children with SEND and ensuring inclusion is part of their everyday practice
- Experience within Reception and/or Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2
- Experience teaching both Core and Foundation subjects across the Primary School
- Some experience delivering interventions
- A strong, confident individual with excellent behaviour management skills.
- Able to engage well with pupils.
- Able to work under your own initiative.
- Smartly presented and with excellent time management skills.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grades A to C) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice
- Recognition of the importance of safeguarding - knowing that it is everyone's responsibility
Full time hours will be 28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3:15pm, term time only (1 hour unpaid lunch break each day). Actual salary £17,389 pt 8 to £17,668 pt 9. 43.5 paid weeks(actual paid weeks will depend on length of service with ECC).
Part-time hours will be Monday to Friday, term time only 8:30am -12:00noon - Actual salary £10,585 pt 8 to £10,754 pt 9 OR 8.30am -12:15pm -Actual salary £11,341 pt 8 to £11,523 pt 9, 43.5 paid weeks(actual paid weeks will depend on length of service with ECC).
