Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Chipping Hill Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, outstanding and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our wonderful, collaborative team. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic person, who believes in our core values and specific ethos to add value to our experienced and excellent team of Higher Level Teaching Assistants.
The successful candidate will be someone with recent and relevant experience of working, understanding and supporting children within an educational setting, demonstrate good teaching and learning skills, a commitment to team and collaborative working and able to display an innovative approach to education. They should thrive when working with children and have excellent communication skills.
It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate the following:
- Enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of different personalities and skill levels.
- Experience within Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Experience teaching both Core and Foundation subjects across the Primary School
- Experience planning targeted interventions
- Some experience adapting teaching to suit the needs of pupils
- A strong, confident individual who can take control of a classroom with excellent behaviour management skills.
- Able to engage well with pupils.
- Able to work under your own initiative.
- Smartly presented and with excellent time management skills.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grades A to C) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice
- Recognition of the importance of safeguarding - knowing that it is everyone's responsibility
Hours will be 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 12.15 noon and 1.15pm to 3.30pm or 8:30am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:30pm, term time only. Actual salary will be £18,734 at point 10 up to £19,660 at point 13, 43.5 paid weeks (actual paid weeks will depend on length of service with ECC).
