To provide high-quality care and early years education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The Nursery Practitioner will work as part of a team to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports the development and well-being of children aged 0-5 years.
Deliver rich learning opportunities and exceptional care that helps children to develop.
Plan, observe, and assess children's learning using the EYFS framework.
Promote physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development through planned activities.
Health, Safety & Safeguarding
Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment at all times.
Adhere to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Carry out daily risk assessments and report any concerns to management.
Personal Care
Support children with personal care routines including feeding, toileting, and dressing.
Maintain dignity and respect for each child at all times.
Partnership with Parents
Develop strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and welfare.
Encourage parental involvement in the nursery.
Teamwork and Communication
Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver a balanced curriculum.
Attend team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to planning and improvement discussions.
Administration
Keep accurate and up-to-date records including observations, learning journals, accident forms, and attendance logs.
Follow nursery policies and procedures at all times.
Requirements:
Essential:
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
Knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
Clear enhanced DBS check.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
