Classteacher - Upper Key Stage 2
We are seeking to appoint a creative, organised and inspiring teacher to join our Upper Key Stage 2 team, initially based in Year 5. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are very welcome to apply.
You will be a highly effective classroom teacher and have high expectations of children's behaviour, attainment and progress. You will also be able to motivate, inspire and challenge pupils in order to help them achieve their very best.
Myland Primary School is a welcoming, vibrant and inclusive school that offers a creative, varied and engaging curriculum for our children. We are keen to welcome talented teaching staff who will be committed to providing the very best outcomes for our pupils. We are ideally situated close to the A12 and Colchester station, with excellent transport links and access to public transport.
Our children have a great appetite for learning which enables our teachers and support staff to plan and teach in an exciting way. We are lucky to have very supportive parents and governors who place a high value on education.
Our most recent Ofsted report (February 2020) stated, "There is a lot of joy in this school. Pupils like being here, and there is a strong sense of purpose. Pupils are expected to work hard and behave well, and they do. There is also time for fun and laughter."
We are an outward looking school, which contributes to our high standards across all Key Stages. Our school is one of the DfE's 34 national English Hubs and we also have a National Teaching for Mastery specialist (Maths) on our staff, so this is an exciting time to be joining our team.
Due to the current situation with COVID-19, visits to the school are not possible during the school day. However, we may be able to accommodate a visit outside of the school day, subject to social distancing requirements. If you would like further information about the role or would like to discuss the position with our Headteacher, Debbie Griggs, please phone the school office or email admin@myland.essex.sch.uk and we can arrange this for you.
Please make all applications online via the Essex Schools Jobs website. (Please note that we do not accept CVs.)
Myland Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This appointment is subject to safer recruitment procedures, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and medical clearance.
