We are currently looking for a positive and effective Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), or a colleague with simialr experience, to join our team. You will have the chance to work across the school, leading whole classes, small groups and work with individuals, however the majority of your time will be centred on Key Stage 2.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced colleague who is looking for a new challenge or even exploring teaching as the next step in their career. The position will be fixed initially for one year (Wednesday to Friday for 18.53 hours per week). This is the first time we have had such a role in school, so the successful candidate will be able to help establish the role.

The whole team are committed to providing our children with an excellent education and to that end we are looking for someone who will:

  • Care for, challenge, inspire and engage our children
  • Be actively involved in the full life of the school
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset and positive attitudes
  • Be reliable, resilient and flexible
  • Be committed to inclusion
  • Have a can-do approach

We can offer:

  • Happy, well-behaved children who are enthusiastic about learning
  • Supportive staff, parents and governors
  • A welcoming atmosphere
  • Good opportunities for professional development
  • A fantastic outdoor learning environment

We are outward looking and work closely with a range of schools and groups, in particular Lyons Hall School in Braintree, to provide our children and staff with a wealth of experiences. The school draws a range of pupils from across the Tendring area.

Information about the School

The School is set in approximately a three acre site with original buildings dating back to 1896. The school has extended over the years to include new buildings and extensive outdoor learning facilities.
