Food Technician

Pay Range: Local Government Scale 3

Actual Salary from: £12.18 - £12.39 per hour (Points 5-6)

Start Date: 10th June 2024

The Role

We are seeking an outstanding individual to be responsible for preparing for practical lessons, assisting during lessons where necessary and clearing up after practical lessons. Maintaining high standards of food hygiene in the food classrooms.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • To be responsible for preparing and checking orders for the Department and maintaining stock levels.
  • To follow COSH regulations when storing and handling cleaning chemicals within the department.
  • Complete and log safety and temperature checks as directed by the subject leader to maintain department's due diligence documentation.
  • To ensure items are laundered where necessary and equipment cleaned after use.

We're looking for you if you have:

  • Experience of preparing and cooking a wide variety of food products.
  • GCSE English and Maths grade 4 or above or equivalent.
  • Full working knowledge of ICT to support learning.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills.
