Local Governing Committee Clerk

Annualised Hours, 265 hours per year/Permanent

About the role:

This is a critical role for the Trust as it supports Trustees in delivering their statutory responsibilities through local Governance.

As part of the Governance Team, you will deliver an efficient and effective clerking service across our Local Governing Committees (LGCs). Working alongside other Clerks, you will work with LGC Chairs, Headteachers, and local governors to ensure that each LGC is enabled to work within its Terms of Reference and the Trust's Scheme of Delegation, to deliver on its' local responsibilities.


About you: 

This is a rewarding and challenging role that will give you the opportunity to support Governors and work with other Clerks to the Trust.

Our Clerks are instrumental in providing professional guidance and advice to the LGCs, supporting meetings, and ensuring that they receive comprehensive and effective administrative support in line with the Trust standards.

Reporting to the Governance Professional and Policy Advisor your principal role will be to provide administrative and organisational support.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our governance team and work flexibly around a calendar of scheduled meetings.

Previous experience as a Clerk or working within governance in the Education Sector is desirable but not essential.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work independently and able to organise their own time whilst working to strict deadlines. Used to working with confidential information, therefore integrity is a key attribute.
