1:1 Learning Support Assistant

5 days per week - 8.45am to 3.20pm

Term time only (38 weeks per year)

Pay Band - Scale 4

Required April 2024 (may consider a later start date for the right applicant)

This is a fixed-term post to August 2024 (may be extended depending on pupil need in September 2024)

We are seeking to appoint a calm, enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team. The post is affixed to provide particular and skilled support on a one-to-one basis to a child with significant learning and behavioural needs. While the post is attached to a named child, it is our practice to allocate LSA support across a range of individuals with high levels of SEMH and/or learning needs, and so you may be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with different children across the school. The successful applicant will have a 'solution-based' attitude, will emanate positivity and will uphold our Christian values.

Compassion and kindness instead of blame and shame

Hope instead of hopelessness

Connection and belonging rather than disconnection

We have a friendly and supportive staff and fantastic children.

The successful applicant should preferably have:

  • Experience of working in schools
  • Skills to support children with significant additional needs
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • A commitment to meeting the needs of all pupils
  • An ability to work on their own initiative

Some supervision of children during break and lunch times will also be required.

Please use the 'Information to support this application' section to detail how you meet the criteria for the post (see attached job description).

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and medical checks.

For further information, please contact Lene Johnson, our Office Manager on 01376 561328.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
