Merrylands Primary School and Nursery has an exciting opportunity for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join the team to provide one to one support for a child with complex additional needs.
The post is for a Fixed Term for 1 year from June 2024 to provide maternity cover.
The hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch, 32.5 hours per week term time only - 39 weeks per year including 5 INSET days.
Salary Scale 3 to Scale 4 (range 5 to 7) Actual salary £18,215 to £18,813 dependent on qualifications and experience (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods)

We are seeking to appoint a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to work as part of the teaching and learning team to ensure the pupil is fully integrated into school life, support their individual needs; social, emotional, communication, academic and physical. The role will require working 1:1 on targets and provision as well as providing intimate care.

· have experience of supporting children with social and emotional developmental needs
· have a high level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication/interaction skills
· have energy, enthusiasm and a flexible approach with the ability to look upon demands as an opportunity to be positive and inspirational
· believe in inclusion, diversity and access and the right of each pupil to maximise their potential whatever their needs and abilities
· work well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
