St John's Green Primary School is a large Town Centre school, operating over two sites.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Office Assistant with good attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and work independently with good numeracy and literacy skills, to join our School Office. This is a permanent contract for 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday during term time, including Non Pupil days, 08.30am to 12.30pm. This role is set at pay scale 3.4 which equates to £19,264.00 pro-rata per annum (£8,887.17 actual per annum).
It is desirable but not essential that the successful candidate has previous experience of working in a busy office.
The main duties are:
Welfare
· To administer first aid to pupils as required, in keeping with the school's policy and order first aid supplies as necessary
· To liase with parents regarding pupil sickness/injury
· To assist with visits from nurse, dentist etc
· To assist with the general welfare of pupils
Reception
· To be the first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries and take messages where appropriate
· To ensure school security arrangements are always complied with, including the issue of visitor badges and signing of the visitor's book
· To check and sign for deliveries
· To provide hospitality for visitors to the school
Clerical
· To undertake typing and word processing as required
· To undertake filing, photocopying and reprographic work as required, including the basic maintenance of the photocopiers
· To be responsible for the sorting and distributing of incoming post and sending outgoing post, including the log of stamps
· To provide clerical support as required
· To be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the manual and computerised pupil data records, including attendance details and dinner money
· To assist with the monitoring and maintenance of stock and order supplies as necessary
· To assist with the administration of school visits in liason with the Office Administrator
