· Liaison with external contractors

· General cleaning duties

· Maintenance and repairs / painting

· Manage cleaning staff

· Some flexibility with evenings and weekends.

This is a key role providing vital support to the continuing success of our schools and is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a 'can do' attitude to join our happy and hardworking team.

The successful candidate will possess a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and work hard as well as an aptitude for practical work. The role will suit someone who enjoys new challenges in a varied and busy school environment.

We are looking for someone who:

· Is enthusiastic, organised, self-motivated and can use their own initiative.

· Is reliable, has energy, vision and takes pride in their work

· Will ensure that our school site is safe, clean and tidy to provide a high-quality learning environment for our children.

· Will undertake preventative maintenance & repairs and is practical, with good DIY skills

· Will act as the main key holder, with responsibility for locking and/or unlocking the school site

· Will act as the nominated alarm contact for school

· Will liaise with contractors and cleaning staff

· Will take a key role in health & safety checks and monitoring, including Fire, Legionella and play equipment with input to COSHH and Risk Assessments

· Will monitor cleaning stocks

· Will adhere to and uphold all school policies in particular Safeguarding and Health and Safety

We can offer:

· Support and training for 7 weeks working alongside our current caretaker.

· Additional training where required

· Spacious and well-maintained school grounds with excellent facilities

· Children who are exceptionally well-behaved, very polite, happy, enthusiastic and eager to learn

· Staff who are committed to high quality teaching and learning and a culture where everyone is encouraged to succeed

· A school which is recognised for its strength in sport, health, fitness and well-being for which it has gained national and local accreditations for its outstanding efforts

· Very supportive governors, parents and local community.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
