SCHOOL SITE MANAGER REQUIRED
Monday to Friday (Hours to be discussed)
Boreham Primary School is a village school with approximately 224 pupils on roll.
We pride ourselves on being a 'Friendship School' - our main school rule is 'Hurt Body, Hurt Feelings, Tell a Grown-up'. The school vision, 'Daring to aim high, scale new heights, spread our wings and fly far' and our seven school values are reflected through a whole school community working together, which is committed to enabling pupils to be happy and successful at Boreham.
Due to the pending retirement of our current caretaker who has happily worked at the school for over 32 years, we would like to appoint a site -manager to look after our school and manage our cleaning staff.
You will need to have proven DIY skills and be willing to undertake a variety of tasks. Training in a trade such as plumbing or electrical work would be an asset although not essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Site security
· Managing the health & safety of the site
· Liaison with external contractors
· General cleaning duties
· Maintenance and repairs / painting
· Manage cleaning staff
· Some flexibility with evenings and weekends.
This is a key role providing vital support to the continuing success of our schools and is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a 'can do' attitude to join our happy and hardworking team.
The successful candidate will possess a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and work hard as well as an aptitude for practical work. The role will suit someone who enjoys new challenges in a varied and busy school environment.
We are looking for someone who:
· Is enthusiastic, organised, self-motivated and can use their own initiative.
· Is reliable, has energy, vision and takes pride in their work
· Will ensure that our school site is safe, clean and tidy to provide a high-quality learning environment for our children.
· Will undertake preventative maintenance & repairs and is practical, with good DIY skills
· Will act as the main key holder, with responsibility for locking and/or unlocking the school site
· Will act as the nominated alarm contact for school
· Will liaise with contractors and cleaning staff
· Will take a key role in health & safety checks and monitoring, including Fire, Legionella and play equipment with input to COSHH and Risk Assessments
· Will monitor cleaning stocks
· Will adhere to and uphold all school policies in particular Safeguarding and Health and Safety
