Catering Assistant
Working Hours: 15 hours a week term time
Salary Range: (Scale 2) £18198 to 18562 gross per annum depending on experience (pro-rata £6126 to £6249)
We are seeking to recruit a Catering Assistant at John Ray Junior School. The successful candidate will be someone who can support the Catering Manager to provide good quality, nutritious home-made meals for our children. At John Ray Junior School we use fresh ingredients and we are committed to a high standard of food preparation with an eye for presentation.
It would an advantage to have previous experience in a similar role or have transferable skills, with the ability to use their own initiative and to work under the supervision and guidance of the Catering Manager.The ideal candidate will have suitable qualifications , (Level 2 Hygiene hygiene certificate) but full training will be given.
John Ray Junior promotes the healthy enjoyment of food, its rich diversity and the important part that it plays in our lives, not just for school meals but extending this to other areas of school life such as Breakfast Club, cooking demonstrations for our pupils and parent evening 'taster' events. The successful candidate with share that ethos and dedication.

Information about the School
Our school is a four-form entry junior school catering for children from 7-11. We work in close partnership with our neighbouring infant school as well as other local primary schools.
