Required for January 2022

Teaching Assistant - Interventions and Support (Literacy/Numeracy)

Scale 5 point 8 to 11. £20,493 to £21,748 plus outer fringe allowance £626 - Pro rata: £13,397 to £14,193. 27.5 hours per week term time plus inset day.

We are seeking to appoint a well-organised, enthusiastic individual, with a focus on literacy, to join our Faculty of Learning Support.

The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring the progress, development and welfare of all students with identified SEND needs. In particular, a high level of training will be provided to enable 1 to 1 work in literacy and/or numeracy. In addition, you will sometimes provide in-class support, assistance with mobility and other bespoke interventions, as required. It would also be desirable to be first aid trained, or be willing to undertake such training.

Shenfield High School retained its "GOOD" Ofsted rating in November 2018. We are a co-educational 11-18 academy school with a commitment to high standards, a holistic approach, student wellbeing and learning for life. We expect all staff to share this philosophy.

Shenfield is conveniently and pleasantly situated close to Shenfield mainline station to London Liverpool Street - and what will be the eastern terminus of Crossrail's Elizabeth Line - the towns of Brentwood and Billericay and to the Essex countryside.

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share in this commitment. This appointment is subject to an enhanced Disclosure check and positive references.
