We are looking for a Site Manager to join our friendly hardworking team to help keep our site sparkling clean and well maintained.

The ideal candidate is someone that takes pride in their work, is thorough, yet fast paced, is approachable, flexible and has a can do attitude! We need someone that is practical and hands on and works well on their own and as part of a team. You will need to be able to manage a varied workload and be able to prioritise efficently to make sure the school site remains safe and functional.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • A firm commitment to the school ethos
  • A flexible approach to their work and ability to work independently
  • Strong DIY and handyman skills, for example, decorating, carpentry, plumbing
  • Good communication skills as you will be liaising with contractors, tradesman as well as students and staff.

This role includes working in the school holidays when hours can be consolidated by arrangement. Ideally you should have an awareness of COSHH, safe manual handling practices and Health and Safety. Prior experience within a similar setting is desirable, although not essential.

Full driving licence and use of own car is essential as you may be required to attend the Academy outside of normal working hours.

32.5 hours per week 52 weeks per year, Scale 5 (£18,000 starting salary). Holidays are encouraged to be taken in school holiday periods.

Hours will involve locking and unlocking the school and will need to be flexible. Working hours to be discussed, daily working pattern to be mutually agreed. (Hours to cover 7:00am - 6:00pm; usually 7:00am-10.00am then 2:30pm-6:00pm). You will also be required to be on call in the event of alarm call outs.

Gosfield Community Primary School is a small village school located in the beautiful countryside just outside Halstead. We are a 'good' school (2023) and are constantly striving to be the best we can be. We part of Attain Academy Partnership, based within Newlands Spring Primary School. Within our MAT we are linked with Newlands Springs, Rayne Primary School, Elm Hall, deVere Primary, Bocking Primary and Cressing Primary School.

We provide a cross curricular approach to learning and believe that children learn best through different experiences and through their own investigations; this learning is supported within a friendly, safe and secure environment.We are fortunate to have extensive grounds incorporating an area for forest school learning.
