We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and hard-working person to join our experienced and friendly learning support staff.

You will need to be flexible, positive and resilient.

This is a great opportunity to develop skills working with SEN pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and complex needs pupils in a welcoming special school setting. You may be expected to work across a range of age groups from Key Stage 1-4 and with individual pupils or classes with different medical, social and learning needs to support across the curriculum, in and out of class.

Part of the role could involve supporting pupils with personal care needs, safeguarding, administering pupil medication and applying sensory plans and strategies.

Applicants must have English and maths, at least GCSE grade C or equivalent.

Information about the School

Kingswode Hoe is a special school for pupils with complex learning difficulties. We take pupils aged between 5 and 16 (Y1 - Y11) living in the Colchester area. All pupils are admitted to the school by the Statutory Assessment team of Essex Local Authority based at Essex House in Colchester. We are currently funded for 151 places.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
