Queen Boudica Primary School is a thriving and successful two-form entry primary school situated on the north side of Colchester. We offer modern, well-resourced learning environments and our pupils are well mannered, dynamic and motivated to learn. You will be offered strong support from friendly colleagues and professional development opportunities to enable you to extend your existing skill set.
We are in receipt of funding for a pupil in Year 6 with an EHCP for ASD and complex learning and emotional needs, who requires an adult to work with them on a 1-1 basis, supporting the teaching team with delivery of an individualised curriculum focussed upon academic attainment alongside emotional regulation. It is intended that the pupil's hours will increase during the course of the year upwards of 15.
Strong behaviour management skills, and experience with, or knowledge of practice such as that found in a GROW provision would be an advantage, as well as experience of planning and delivery of individualised curriculums. The ability to lead 1:1 and small group sessions is vital. Coaching and support will be provided from an ASD specialist in the initial weeks in post. Close liaison with home and attendance at termly reviews are essential, and effective working with other professionals in a 'team around' approach is also important.
As with all posts in our school, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check, in line with our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
We reserve the right to close the advert early if an appropriate candidate applies.
Closing date: November 16th 12.00 noon
Interviews: week beginning November 23rd
