Part-Time 1:1 Support (Contract)

Dunmow St Mary's Primary School

4 mornings per week and one whole day

Pay Band Local Government Scale 3 points 4-5.

Required September 2020 - July 2021

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated and committed teaching assistant to join the team at our creative, friendly primary school. The role will involve working alongside the SENCo team, class teaching team and outside agencies to support a child in KS1 with global developmental delay.

The successful applicant must have:

· Recent experience of working with children with SEN or a willingness to learn and develop skills.

· Experience of speech and language support is desirable but not essential.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

· A commitment to achieving the best for every child; and be highly motivated.

· Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A-C or equivalent

· Flexibility and a good sense of humour

· The ability to follow direction but also be pro-active and use own initiative

They will be required to:

· Provide support in class; 1:1 with the pupil, in small group situations and as part of the reception teaching team. There will be a need for some intimate care for the pupil.

· Source, prepare and adapt resources

· Follow programs developed by health professionals, including Speech and Language, and attend reviews in school with professionals

· Develop the child's social skills and provide emotional support
