Shorefields School caters for pupils aged 3-19 with Severe and Profound Learning difficulties. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and effective Speech and Language Therapist, with a professional, flexible approach and a good sense of humour. Key skills we are looking for include excellent interpersonal skills, organisational and communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work across teams and staff groups and multi-agency.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in working with children who have a range of complex needs and learning difficulties.
Familiarity with a total communication approach, including AAC's PECs, visual timetables and Makaton.
Recognised Paediatric Dysphagia training and experience would be ideal.
Due to the conditions and complex needs of our students at Shorefields, continuity and consistency of support is essential, as well as quality (maximising provision within school hours) will need to commit to the full working hours of the post.

Shorefields School caters for the needs of pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties. We currently have 154 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula
