Teacher of History required for September 2019
(Plus relocation package and 6 months' free accommodation if applicable)
William Edwards is a very popular, oversubscribed 11-16 school, judged 'outstanding' by OfSTED. It is the strategic lead school for the Thurrock Teaching School Alliance and is part of the growing South West Essex Community Education Trust. Pupil outcomes across the school are significantly above the national average.
We are seeking to recruit a teacher to join our highly committed and innovative History team. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving student outcomes across the age and ability range and be highly motivated and committed to the very highest standards. Applications are welcome from people at any stage of their career (including NQTs) and a relocation allowance and 6 months' free accommodation are available to the right candidate.
The History Department is well resourced and has seen significant recent investment. Every classroom has been refurbished and all have double projection, writable walls, integrated sound systems, apple TV and new furniture. One of the classrooms doubles as a 60 seat cinema. Staff all have iPads and laptops to maximise the use of technology in the classroom.
The school offers a comprehensive induction programme for all new staff and a strong commitment to continuing staff development and training through our Teaching School. If you have energy and passion in abundance and would relish the opportunity to join our History team, we look forward to hearing from you. We would welcome pre-application visits.
