Teaching Assistant 5 days per week, paid school holidays
We are a small, friendly Independent School, specialising in boys with social, emotional and behavioural issues based in Leigh on Sea. The School is part of a private company who specialise in residential and foster care for boys aged from 13-18.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding and dynamic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about high quality teaching and learning and who has high expectations of achievement, behaviour, progress and attainment.
The position is open to experienced Teaching Assistants, who have had previous experience with challenging behaviour.
This vacancy would suit someone who is looking for a change and an opportunity to teach in a unique and diverse school. The position will involve working across the school within a small and collaborative education team.
We are a small educational provision and we specialise in individualised learning in order for our boys to achieve their potential. Most of our boys have had a disaffected learning experience and many hold an educational health care plan for a number of reasons, including behaviour issues. We have a high staff to student ratio and run a broad and balanced educational curriculum alongside work life skills and vocational learning. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
· is enthusiastic, hardworking, and professional
· is able to communicate effectively with children, staff and foster carers
· is creative, innovative and forward thinking
· has the ability to work on own initiative
· is flexible to the needs of the School with a "can do attitude"
As we don't conform to a 'mainstream' educational way of working, visits are strongly encouraged prior to application.
